Online Gaming Rules Outside PURE Casino

Online play is a separate matter from a night on 2 Avenue South, with its own rules, regulators and limits. This page sets out how Alberta organizes it, in plain terms.

The market

A market with two bodies

On July 13, 2026, Alberta launched its regulated online gaming market. AGLC regulates it, while the Alberta iGaming Corporation, or AiGC, runs it. To operate online, a company must complete registration with AGLC and also enter into an AiGC operating agreement: two distinct steps involving two distinct bodies. Approval had been given to 22 registered sites when the market opened.

Registration is only half of the rule. Registered operators must keep their games limited to players physically located in Alberta. For a reader in Taber, Raymond or Picture Butte, the phone or laptop has to be inside the province at the moment of play.

Checking

Looking up an operator

AiGC publishes a directory of registered iGaming sites at abigaming.ca. An operator missing from that directory is not regulated in Alberta. Approved operators carry the AiGC logo. The directory is the place to confirm an operator's name before any money goes to it.

The province runs its own online gaming site, Play Alberta, at playalberta.ca. It is operated directly by AGLC, and the money it earns flows to the Alberta government. So AGLC has two jobs in this picture: it regulates the market, and it runs the province's own site.

Self-exclusion for casinos and online play

Self-exclusion with AGLC can be set up only online, at selfexclusion.ca. The person decides the scope: regulated online gaming, racing entertainment centres and casinos in Alberta, or both. Terms available are six months or one, two or three years.

It starts right away. Once in place, it cannot be ended early, so the chosen length is the length that applies. A choice of both covers 2 Avenue South and registered online sites in one step.

Paid links and what they are

Lethbridge Casino Running Total is a guide that operates independently; it is neither a casino nor the website of PURE Casino Lethbridge or Bullys Casino. It accepts no bets and holds no accounts. Paid links, each labelled Ad, appear only on the home page, and they earn the guide a commission. The partner behind them may change.

Those links lead to a private online casino. Play Alberta it is not, neither AGLC nor AiGC operates it, and it has no connection with PURE Casino Lethbridge or Bullys Casino. Nowhere does the guide state that the partner holds an Alberta registration. Any operator can be looked up in the AiGC directory.
